Michael and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary on August 15, and wow I can’t believe it’s been THREE years since we got married!!! Three years of ups and downs, three years of I am sorry’s, and three years of I love you’s. Three years of waking up every morning to my best friend who puts up with my craziness, awkwardness and annoying habits! Marriage is not easy, but it’s so WORTH it, and I am glad I get to do it with this wonderful man!

This year we wanted to update our photos because last time we had our photos taken professionally was on our wedding day! And by ‘we’ I really mean ‘I’ since a majority of men don’t like to be photographed, and in my case, my man doesn’t like to show affection in public. Anyway, we had our anniversary session a couple of months ago, and it was so much fun! Thanks to wonderful Abbie Tyler Photography we now have beautiful images to cherish for years come!

As usual on our anniversary day (I say ‘usual’ like it is our 10th anniversary :)) Michael got me flowers, we exchanged cards and went out to dinner. We don’t go out to eat at fine dining restaurants on a regular basis, but we do on special occasions. And anniversary is one of them! The last couple of years we’ve been exploring fine dining restaurants in Pittsburgh, but this year we decided to go local and went to Ihlenfeld Dining Room at Oglebay Resort. And it was very very good! To top it off I made a naked cake for dessert (thanks to the little creative person in me!). I am proud to say that it was the prettiest cake I’ve ever made, and it was delicious too! Well, if you like vanilla cake with buttercream frosting!

One other thing that we are doing this year is we are taking an anniversary TRIP TO EUROPE!!! Eek! I am beyond excited! Neither of us has been to Europe before, so we are looking forward to exploring and seeing new places, unplugging from the business of everyday life and spending some quality time together!

Cheers to three years! I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us next year!
